We’re beyond psyched to announce the release of our new album “In Giraffe” via Glaswegian indie label Heavenly Creature Records and our own freshly cooked up imprint Delikassetten Records. “In Giraffe” will be out on beautiful transparent indigo blue vinyl on the 26th of April.
It’s been quite the journey since last year in May, when the three of us got into a car and drove down to France to set up at an old farmhouse an hour and a half north from Bordeaux. Over just 3 and ½ days, we recorded 13 new songs, 11 of which ended up on “In Giraffe”.
All with the help of our fantastic recording and mixing engineer and super host Jaike Stambach, who already helped out the previous line-up of the band with Emile and Malte with recording “Anyone Can Draw” under way more humble circumstances something like an eternity ago.
All the effort feels like it has been well worth it, this is what we’re in this for. The past year has been paved with sublime encounters under a whole array of lucky stars—with our friend Guille, who ended up doing the sleeve artwork for us as well as the poster for the release show, and all of the many other midwives and -husbands, such as our friend Jack Mellin, Dep from Monorail and of course Lauren who runs Heavenly Creature Records. And just with ourselves, growing together as a band and as friends.
We cannot wait to finally share these new songs with this broken world and celebrate with you at our release show on the day of the release at Loge in Friedrichshain, alongside our local favourites Slipper.
There will also be a very limited, Monorail-exclusive special edition of the album including a zine with an interview and other accompanying materials. It’s currently stuck in customs, but trust us, it will be there in time for the release. We’re also in the process of setting up a bunch of tour dates around Germany as well as a couple of shows in the UK around June and July.
